The family in this next story is not just one in a million, they might just be the firstever to experience this miracle.
We’ve heard a lot of amazing birth stories here at LittleThings. From babies like this one who survived against all odds to completely one of a kind twins likethese mixed race sisters, there’s not much that shocks us anymore. However, new parents Silvia Hernandez and Raul Torres daughters aren’t just worth mentioning, these babies are a true medical miracle…and the most shocking birth story I have ever heard of in my life.
The Texas couple conceived identical triplets without the use of fertility treatments, something that happens to only one in a million new mothers. Having three identical babies like these cute brothers may sound like quite the challenge, but when Catalina, Ximena, and Scarlett were born at 34 weeks on May 16, 2015, the world learned why these girls are extraordinary.
Two of the girls, Ximena and Scarlett, are conjoined at the pelvis, something that only happens one time in every 200,000 births, and sadly, the survival rate is not high. The newborn babies seem healthy otherwise, but doctors say it will take six months to a year before they can perform a separation surgery.
In the following video, dad Raul tells ABC “God chose us for a reason — to take care of them” and for now, that’s all the parents of these tiny miracles can do.
Will you join me in praying for these tiny girls? Please SHARE this amazing story to your Facebook page to tell everyone you know.
